Being a geek and all, I kinda wondered what Henry Cavill might look like as Superman, after his casting was officially announced this weekend.

First of all I should say that this was purely done for my own amusement. The main photo reference I used was this one here, although unfortunately I couldn’t find the photographer’s name to credit it to.

What’s interesting is that A), I don’t think that Henry is that well known (I’ve never seen The Tudors so he was certainly new to me), and B), it’s amazing how dramatic the change can be once you make someone clean-shaven, change their haircut, and of course, put them in the famous costume. After looking at lots of images, I think I’ve captured the likeness pretty well, but I’m intrigued to see how he actually ends up looking for the part. Of course I have no idea what they’ll really do with the costume, but mine is somewhere between the Reeve and Routh designs. Like I say, it was just a bit of fun really, but hope you like it…
