Smokey Bear 80th (FCB New York/Ad Council)

Celebrating Smokey Bear's 80th birthday in 2024, in collaboration with FCB New York, the Ad Council, USDA Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters (NASF) via Central Illustration Agency.

Three decades are represented (50s, 70s and 80s) across multi-format paintings ranging from the narrowest portrait to the widest landscape, with Smokey based on his recent live action incarnation in television spots, voiced by Brian Tyree Henry.

FCB New York designed the main type, which I then embellished by hand for each decade.
